Information exchange in governance networks—Who brokers across political divides?

Abstract The exchange of information among organizations is the lifeblood governance networks. It a necessary condition for successful governance. Political divides between often impede exchange. We ask which are most likely to broker across political divides. consider survey ( n = 312) evidence technical in Swiss water Bayesian exponential random graph modeling results show that scientific play crucial roles cross‐divide brokerage. To lesser extent, this also holds higher‐level governmental agencies. Participation policy forums associated with higher likelihood brokering There however no clear benefit participating more than two or three forums. conclude an active role played by promising avenue increase flow Beyond this, we suggest setting up carefully constructed and selectively engaging moderate members subgroups.
